Quality
Unlike most suppliers our timber is high quality soft wood normally, Douglas Fir or Canadian red wood. We source from a local estate where they have their own sawmill and finish to our requirement of planed to size; not nominal/smaller as is often supplied to the fencing and building trade. The estate is managed under environmental conditions.
While our product may be more expensive it is exclusive in design, quality and performance. Therefore our palings are full 25 mm thick(1 in) and available at full 100 mm (4 in), 80 mm (3 in), and 50 mm (2 in), we also pride ourselves on special commissions for individual designs Spacing is 50 per cent of the widest paling. The wavy top line can be applied to many of the examples by cutting a pre determined amount off the bottom of the paling.
We supply the palings unfinished, plain wood, ready to be painted or stained in an appropriate colour, in sets sufficient to make approx 1 metre of fence. Nevertheless should there be a requirement for treated timber this can be accommodated but we would have to provide a special quotation.
Such potential for individual creativity has never before been available in the UK. Neither has the potential to offer something to suit your specific requirement
Rapier palings are supplied in packs sufficient for approx 1 metre of fence. Because picket fences styles are made up of the repeatable design sequence not every one works out exactly to 1 m. Our web site indicates the length and number of repeatable sequences, using our recommended spacing, in each ‘1 metre’ pack.
Rapier’s palings are untreated ready to be finished with either a weather proof stain, or painted, any colour required, deepening on individual requirement.
Compared with hedges, which require annual trimming, and metal railings, which tend to rust, unless pre galvanised, Rapier’s quality palings can be used to create a picket fence which is long lasting and highly cost effective
Our site contains various ideas of the many combinations of individual picket fence designs which can be achieved, we believe that there are a potential of over 100 variations which can be created to suit specific requirements. |
